On April 11, 1952, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Bobby and Elmira Oliphant. They named their bundle of joy Larry. Better known as "Sweet Papa," his educational journey began attending St. Monica Catholic Junior High, and culminated with his graduation from Central High School in 1970. He worked at the United States Post Office, as well as railroad work.

Remaining to cherish his precious memories, are his loving parents, Bobby and Elmira Oliphant, Tulsa, OK., 1 sister Artan (William Holly), 1 brother, Bobby Oliphant, Jr., 1 niece Atia (Monte Carter), 2 nephews, Konata and K'ron West, 1 grand-niece Kay'N, 1 aunt, Jenetha (Woody Phillips) 2 uncles, Herbert Peigne, and Vernell Norton along with a host of cousins, family and friends, and his devoted loving fiance, Renett.

Services for Mr. Larry B. Oliphant will be Thursday September 10, 2009 at 11AM at St. Monica Church. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa. Friends may visit Mr. Oliphant on Wednesday from 12Noon to 7PM.
