In her 59th season, Laurie Miles found Peace Beyond The River Thursday evening, July 26, 2012 in Catoosa, Oklahoma.

Laurie attended Dunbar High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. She then attended OSU Tech (as it was called then), where she received her degree in Accounting and Data Processing.

She was a member of the Church of Christ at 31st and Comanche in Okmulgee, Ok, where she attended for many years until she was physically not able to go any longer.


Laurie worked at Deep Fork Community Action for over 30 years as the Accountant/Bookkeeper. She also loved to travel, bake, and loved her sewing, but most of all she simply enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. Laurie always knew how to have a good time; even if you were just sitting around her kitchen table eating a delicious piece of her homemade cake or rolls and talking about memories with her.


Laurie leaves behind to cherish her memory; her three children: daughters Traci L. Williams, and Joy N. Miles of Tulsa, OK. Her son, and daughter-in-law Stewart D. and Lorie Delt of Okmulgee, OK. Five loving grandchildren: Chelsie Williams, MarQ'uice Miles, Emily Ibarra, Christopher Hill and Rebecca Hill, along with six beautiful great grandchildren all of Tulsa, OK. Three brothers, Doyle Williams of Okmulgee, OK , Arthur Williams, Jr., of Tulsa, OK and, Craig Williams of Houston, TX, and one sister, Gwendolyn Kennedy of Okmulgee, OK.

The Final Hour with Laurie will be on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. Matthew Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Okmulgee.
