Mr. Lawhalon Nathaniel Johnson, after 62 Seasons Transitioned to Eternal Rest on January 27, 2026 in Tulsa.
LaWhalon Nathaniel Johnson also known as "Lou" was born on July 12, 1963, to Jo Ann Johnson and Robert Davis. He was lovingly raised by his mother and stepfather, Johnnie C. Johnson. His early childhood was spent on a U.S. military base in Zweibrücken, Germany, where he developed the resilience, curiosity, and strength that would define him throughout his life.
The family later made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There LaWhalon excepted Christ at a young age and was baptized by the late Rev. C.L. Potter and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He attended John Burroughs Elementary School, Madison Middle School, and graduated from Tulsa Central High School. He continued his education at the Bryan Institute, earning a business degree in computer programming.
LaWhalon built a proud work history with several of Tulsa’s most respected establishments, including John F. Lawhorn’s, Fo‑Mac, Nelson’s Cafeteria, and the Tulsa Country Club. He was known for his smile, kindness, work ethics, assurance and steady presence he brought to every workplace.
He had a deep love for the outdoors. Whether fishing, walking, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature, LaWhalon found peace and joy in the world around him. Neighbors often saw him on his long walks, greeting everyone with a warm smile, a friendly wave, and a bit of humor that could brighten anyone’s day
.A devoted sports fan, he held a lifelong loyalty to the Dallas Cowboys. But more than sports, LaWhalon lived by a simple and powerful belief: that life should be lived with truth, intention, and trust in God for whatever comes next. To those who knew him, he was a friend, a protector, and a steady shoulder to lean on. His loyalty ran deep, and his kindness was unwavering.
LaWhalon was preceded in death by his mother, Jo Ann Johnson (2019), and his brother‑in‑law, Jerald Clapp (2018). He leaves to cherish his memory his father, Johnnie C. Johnson; his sister, Latresa Johnson; his nephew, Devontae Johnson; and his niece, Jerica Clapp.
He is also survived by his extended siblings Fay Johnson‑Hill (and brother‑in‑law Tony Hill), Antionette Vincent, and Raychael Johnson, along with a large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends who will forever feel the loss of his gentle spirit. LaWhalon’s life was a testament to strength, resilience, genuine kindness, and heartfelt faith. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the All Faiths Chapel of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc.
