Lawrence Wilson, Sr., 67, passed away on February 6, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on April 20, 1957, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he spent his early years and attended Okmulgee Public Schools.
Lawrence dedicated much of his career to working in maintenance at Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. His strong work ethic and commitment to his job left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside him.
Beyond his professional life, Lawrence found joy in the great outdoors. He had a passion for fishing, hunting, grilling, and gardening—activities that brought him peace and fulfillment. Known for his infectious sense of humor, he had a way of making everyone around him smile. He never met a stranger and could brighten any room with his presence.
Mr. Lawrence Wilson Sr., in his 67th year, dozed into eternal rest on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife Quinn Wilson, his children: Linda Wilson-Burnett, Lawrence Wilson Jr., Fayeatte Guidry, Leon Guidry, and Deon Guidry. He also leaves behind his sisters Patricia, Brenda, and Carolyn; and brothers Johnnie, Wilhenry and Donald. And host of step children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents Charlie O. Wilson and Cora Drew-Wilson, Robert James, Charlie Jr., Corrine, Roosevelt, and Queen Esther Jordan.
Lawrence's warmth and laughter will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
The Hour of Remembrance for Lawrence will commence on Saturday, February 15, 2024 at the Tenth Hour in the most holy sanctuary of St. Matthews Missionary Baptist Church in Okmulgee, where Pastor McKinley Rice is the gracious host.
You may visit Mr. Wilson, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at The Chapel of Peace of Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., Okmulgee on Friday, February 14, 2025 between the hours of 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
The Christian Committal will immediately follow the services in the Okmulgee City Cemetery.
