It all began in Okmulgee, Oklahoma on May 29, 1924, when the first born child of six children in the family of Moses and Maizie [Decker] Stephens arrived. This son was named Lawrence.
Lawrence attended school in Okmulgee and accepted the Lord as his Savior at an early age. He relocated to Tulsa in 1956 and alter joined the Galilee Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Wilson Pike. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Stephens crossed into Eternity on Wednesday, November 9, 2006 in Tulsa. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and two sisters.
Those left to cherish his memory; two brothers, Chalres and Moses, Jr.; his children, Robert, Alford, Anita, James, Floyd, Christine, Diane, Calvin, Bev, Isaiah, Maurice, Michael and Margurette; along with a caravan of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The final hour will be on Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Galilee Baptist Church. The Pastor, Reverend Henry Brent will preside. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
