Mr. Leamon R. Ransom, in his 58th year, made his transition from Earth to Everlasting on Monday morning, March 25, 2013 from Okmulgee.
Leamon Ray Ransom arrived in Okmulgee on May 22, 1954, the son of Roosevelt and Rosa Lee [Grant] Ransom. He grew up in Okmulgee, where he graduated from Okmulgee High School with the Class of 1972.
He met his wife, Debbie in 1976 and they were married in 1977. Although they were divorced after 27 years, they remained friends.
Leamon served in the United States Navy in Jacksonville, Florida for a short time before returning to Oklahoma. He lived in Tulsa until moving to Okmulgee in September of 2012.
Mr. Ransom enjoyed life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time around his family, loved to fish, golf, cook BBQ, hang with his best friend, David Manning, his nephew that was more like a brother and loved motorcycles so much he convinced David he needed one.
Leamon attended Gethsemane Baptist Church in Tulsa and Eastside Baptist Church in Okmulgee. He will truly be missed by his loved ones and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory; his son, Trevor Ransom, Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughters, Lawanna D. Ransom and LaToya Davis, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his sisters, Naomi [Tom] Gannon, Essie Franklin, Maggie Horton, Linda Powell and Velely Boyd, all of Tulsa and Mildred Stillwell, Seminole, Oklahoma; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The final hour with Mr. Ransom will commence on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Eastside Baptist Church. Reverend Marcus Jeffrey, Pastor, will Preside.
Burial will follow in the Northwest Cemetery in Okmulgee.
