Obituary

A blessing in the form of a viable, baby girl arrived on February 6, 1943 to Hazel Lee [McNeely] Gren and John Henry Green, Sr. This beautiful baby girl was given the name Lee Esther.

Lee Esther grew up in Muskogee, where she received her education, culminating with graduation from Historic Manual Training High School with the Class of 1962. After graduation, she was married and though dissolutions, she was blessed with three beautiful children.

Ms. Green accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Rayfield Baptist Church. She served the Lord in several different positions during her life. She provided for her family through her employ at Advance Laundry, where she rendered 10 loyal years of service before eventually joining the Coburn Optical workforce. She retired after 30 years of service.

Lee Esther was a person who truly enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed happy people and loved to make people laugh. Her bright colored attire along with all matching accessories exemplified her great personality and uniqueness. She will always be remembered by thos who truly knew her.

Lee Esther, in her 62nd year, took up wings and flew to her reward in Paradise. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother. She will be fondly remembered by: her daughter, LaRhonda Knapper, Muskogee; her sons, Raymond Cotton, Jr., of Arkansas and harold T. Cotton of North Carolina; three sisters, Rebecca Keys, Muskogee, LaVern Culton, Oklahoma City and Faye Pickett [Bobby], Long Beach, CA; a brother, John Henry Green, Jr.,[Mary], Compton, CA; her grandchildren, LaDonna, Jaleesa, vivian, Michael and Karis; eight great-grandchildren; 2 aunts and a special friend, William Love; along with a caravan of other relatives and friends.

The final tribute to Ms. Green will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the Greater Rayfield Baptist Church. Rev. Leroy Walker, Sr., Pastor will officiate. The Christian Committal will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery. You may visit Ms. Green as she slumbers at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., on Monday from 12 Noon to 6 PM and on Tuesday from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Casket bearers will be Otis Knapper, Ardee Brown, Stevie Charles Balck, Theodore Logan, Charles Mason and Garland Patillar.
