On May 2, 1932, a bundle of joy was delivered to Corene Owens and Roy Leon Grayson in Haskell, Oklahoma. They named their precious baby girl Lee Ella. She was the 2nd child born to the union. Churchgoing, she was a memer of St. John AME Church under the leadership of Pastor B.S. Roberts. She attended Haskell Public Schools and later attended Bacon College, and finished at Rogers State College in Claremore, Oklahoma. Nicknamed "Doll," she was lovingly referred to as Aunt Doll. She labored in the Tulsa Headstart Program for 32 years as a cook before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents, 5 brothers, 1 sister, and 3 of her children. Remaining to cherish her memory, two sons: Calvin and Daniel Basham, a special granddaughter, Rashona Basham, 1 sister, Pearline Pouncil, 1 brother Clement Grayson, four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Saturday February 26, 2011 at 10AM inside our All Faiths Chapel in Tulsa.
