Obituary

Mrs. Lenora Hanson, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, "dozed from Earth to Everlasting" on Wednesday morning, November 16, 2016 from Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

To love and know a virtuous woman is a precious gift from GOD.  She speaks with wisdom, she walks with dignity, and she strides with grace.  Not only by appearance, but by how she carries herself.  One of the most beautiful things that a woman can do is walk in virtue: gracefully reflecting the purpose for which she was created, thus bring glory to GOD.

Mrs. Lenora Franklin Hanson graced her parents (Leothy Franklin Sr. and Josephine Thompson Franklin) and Pumpkin Center, Oklahoma with her presence on May 13, 1937. Lenora's virtuous walk began at an early age at Northwest Baptist Church.  Her virtuous walk included graduating from Dunbar High School in 1956. Dunbar High School is where she met and married the love of her Life Homer Milton Hanson.  Her walk continued to flourish and expand when she joined First Baptist Church, Central under the leadership of Rev. P. W. Jackson.  She worked joyously in many areas of the church including Mission, Church Clerk, Finance, when able she was a faithful attendee of Bible Study, Sunday School, and was known for her beautiful Soprano voice in the choir.  Lenora was a faithful worker within the Southwest Creek and Seminole district, prayer band and state mission. When able she frequently loved to travel to National Sunday School conventions and served faithfully. Prior to retiring, Lenora a devoted employee of the Okmulgee Public School system where she worked passionately with Special Needs Children.

Lenora carried herself with strength and dignity and at times was known to be "Quite the Comedian".  She smiled without fear of the future, because she had a dynamic purpose to accomplish in serving the Lord!!, her family, & her friends.  It suited her virtuous heart.  Her life was a living example of a Proverbs 31 woman.  On November 16 th , 2016 one of the most precious voices was silenced here on earth but rejoicing, walking, singing and shouting now with The Lord!!

"It is Well With My Soul" as she would say," But, Lord, tis for Thee, for thy coming we wait, The sky, not the grave, is our goal; Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord! Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!  And Lord, haste the day when the faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul.  It is well with my soul, It is well, it is well with my soul!!!

Both of Lenora's loving parents Leothy Franklin Sr. and Josephine Franklin along with, one grandchild Dominique "Nikki" Hanson (Columbus OH), sister Devora Franklin Bates, brothers, Oscar W. Franklin, Roland H. Franklin, & Elbert Franklin preceded her in journey to be with the Lord.
