Lenora Lyday arrived in Muskogee, Oklahoma on July 5, 1957 from the union of Harvey "Blue" Lyday, Sr., and Ozella [Walker] Guess.

Lenora grew up and was a lifelong resident of Muskogee, where he was educated in the Muskogee Public School system.

Lenara was a longtime member of the St. Mark Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family.  She had a quiet demeanor and always greeted you with a smile.

After 67 years, 1 month and 14 days, Lenora Lyday received her rest from labor and went to be with the Lord on Monday evening, August 19, 2024.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandmother, Sallie Mae Stokely, her siblings, Sandra Lyday, Marty Lyday, James Earl Fields, Wiliam Jackson, Demetrius Thomas Deloris Guess and Mary Jo Mayes.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory;  her sisters, Bertha Barnes, Josie Lyday, Janie Moore, Rosie Guess and Joyce Guess;  her brothers, Elmer Mayes, Harvey Lyday and Alvin Guess; a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance for Miss Lyday will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the People's Chapel of the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Muskogee.  Reverend Curtis Leland, Pastor of Anchor Fellowship Bible Church of Coweta, Oklahoma, will officiate.

Burial will be on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.

You may visit Lenora, as she slumbers in sweet repose on Friday, between the hours of 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
