Obituary

Mr. Leo William Cazenave, Jr., after 67 years, passed away on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026.

In the year of 1958, on the 22nd day of September, a beautiful baby boy was born to the late Leola (Dalcour) Cazenave and Leo William Cazenave, Sr. Arriving in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, they named him Leo William Cazenave Jr.

Leo was stricken with Polio at the age of 1 year old. He never let his handicap stop him from being a very active kid and was always torturing his two sisters.

Leo and his family move to Opelousas, Louisiana at an early age. He returned to Okmulgee and graduated from Okmulgee High School and later graduated from Bryan Institute in Computer Technology. Leo’s first job was with JC Penny’s as a Sales Associate and also Leo worked at Kelco as a Lab Technician in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.

Leo enjoyed fishing, cooking, baking and gardening.

He was a long-time member of Uganda Martyrs Catholic Church, where he served as a Lector, Eucharistic Minister and Altar Server. Leo also assisted in training the youth to become Altar Servers. He served as a Board Member of the Finance Council and Pastoral Council. Leo also sang in the Choir. He played Santa Claus for the parish & would always dye 12 dozed eggs for the Annual Easter Egg Hunt. Dedicated to helping others, he would transport our seniors, taking them wherever they needed to go.

Leo joined the Knights of Peter Claver in 1984 where he served as Grand Knight, Recording Secretary and Junior Knight Commander.

Leo was a friend of Bill W.; a member of the Welcome Group-AA and had just celebrated his 19th year of Sobriety on January 18, 2026.

Leo brought Light & Love to everyone he met and challenged them to live life more fully while walking more firmly in the ways of the Lord and Claverism.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Linda.

Continuing his legacy of love and devotion is his sister, Beverley Cazenave, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; his Aunt Mildred Dalcour of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, who was truly a second mother and made Leo feel like one of her own; and Uncle Clarence (Lorna) Dalcour of Los Angeles, California; and his Godson Brian Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma.
