Obituary

Leola M. Dalcour, in her 82nd season, Traveled to Eternal Rest, Saturday evening, October 12, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

During the depression days, the year of 1930, on November 13th, a tiny little girl arrived, two months early than her expected arrival date to the loving parents, George and Ezola [Thomas] Dalcour, Sr. She was so tiny due to the early arrival, she had to be handled on a pillow with special care and love by her parents. She was given the name Leola Mae Dalcour and was born near the Northwest Community of Okmulgee.

The Lord blessed her and her parents that she survived her ordeal. She was baptized into the Catholic Faith at a very early age and remained in her faith until the Lord called her to rest.

Leola enjoyed the natural things of life and she loved her family, friends and all people. She was always eager to help anyone she could. She was loving, caring, giving and a devoted person to her family, community, church and organizations.

Leola was a member of Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Alfratta R. Aubry Court #55, a Lady of Grace 4th Degree member, and Uganda Martyr's Altar Society. She had the honor to be a Lector Reader for years, Eucharistic Minister, Gift Bearer and sang in the Choir for many years. She was dutiful to all until her health failed her.

Leola was preceded to rest by her parents, a daughter, Linda Cazenave Durham, a sister, Leonis Norman, four brothers, George Jr., E.J., Clyde and Floyd, both sides of her grandparents and aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her passing; a daughter, Beverly Cazenave; a son, Leo Cazenave, Jr., a brother, Clarence [Lorna] Dalcour, Los Angeles, California; a son-in-law, George Durham Houston, Texas; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Dalcour, Cleo Gouthier, both of Okmulgee and Peggy Dalcour, Los Angeles, California; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The Funeral Mass for Ms. Dalcour will be celebrated on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. in the Uganda Martyr's Catholic Church. Father Joshua E. Litwack is the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Okmulgee.

You may visit Leola, as she slumbers in sweet repose at the funeral home in Okmulgee on Friday from 10 AM until 5:30 PM.

The Rosary for her will be on Friday, beginning at 6:30 PM at the Church.
