Obituary

On August 27, 1954 our heavenly conductor-in- chief blessed Alfred and Uraha Belle (McGill) Triggs with a boy that the world would know as Leonard W. Triggs.

Leonard made sure he was on the right track by ensuring his soul was safe in Jesus being baptized at a young age by his uncle, Rev. W. E. McGill at New Hope Baptist Church. He made sure to get his education by attending Oktaha Public Schools where he was a member of the basketball and baseball teams as well as 4-H and FFA, graduating with the class of 1972.

He later attended Connors State College before moving to St. Louis where he found his calling to be a conductor over 20 years for Union Pacific.

As a conductor, one of his duties was to oversee the safety and comfort of passengers. This was not a problem for Leonard because he was a good-hearted person who never met a stranger. He could always be counted on to bring humor into any situation. Leonard decided to follow his tracks back to Oklahoma, where he spent the last 30 years doing carpentry and plumbing in the Muskogee area.

When Leonard heard the words "All aboard" from the heavenly conductor -in- chief he obeyed, and was met at the heavenly station by his mother and father, two brothers Rev. Dezo McGill and Rev. Roy Lee McGill, a sister Dorothy (McGill) Johnson, sister-in-law Gladys Triggs.

He leaves tracks behind for the rest to follow home and to cherish his memories; his siblings: Alvin
Triggs, Curtis (Connie) Triggs, Charlene (Travis) Carter, Gwendolyn Breedlove, Yvonne Caldwell and Al (David) Triggs as well as his nephews, nieces and friends that were like family that he traveled with along the way.

A poet by John Passaro said "know and have faith that at the end of your ride your train will have the right passengers on board and all the passengers that were on board at one time or another were there for a distinct purpose. Enjoy the ride."

Mr. Leonard Triggs, passed from this life on Monday afternoon, November 1, 2021 from Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

A family conducted Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00AM in the most holy sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Church in Oktaha, with Reverend Michael Logan as the Officiant.
