Obituary
"Her Story"
Leora Lorene was born on February 13, 1933 to Lucora Reynolds McVay and William LeFlore. She would grow up in the home of Dave McVay. Leora moved to Muskogee in 1942. She attended Canaan School and graduated from the Historic Manual Training High School with the proud class of 1953. She would also further her learning by attending Drauns Business School. She accepted Christ at an early age at Canaan Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Campbell. In later years, she became a member of St. Paul Trinity Church of God in Christ where she served many facets of the church organization. Leora was a charter member of St. Paul under Pastor A.D. Jackson. She was also an ordained Missionary under Faith Christian Fellowship International Headquarters.
Leora was married to Joseph C. Williams in 1950 and to this union they were blessed with three children. Preceding Mrs. Williams in death: her father William Leflore, parents Dave and Lucora McVay, brothers: Henry A. McVay, Sr., James McVay, and Amos Wright, her sister, Mayetta Chatman Clayton, and her two special friends, Dorothy Cooks, and Mary L. Williams.
Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her loving children: Rev. Gerald Cornelius Williams (Lera), Beggs, OK., Reginal Corane Williams, Lawton, OK., Malana Williams Gause (Patrick), Fayetteville, NC., five step-children: Linda Sanford (Lawrence), Tulsa, OK., Joseph Williams, Ohio, Elizabeth Williams, Larry Williams, and Diane Carter, all of Muskogee, OK., her siblings: Thomas McVay (Mary), Los Angeles, CA., Arnice Franklin (Mack), Tulsa, OK., Lewis McVay (Kay), Detroit, MI., Joyce McVay, Tulsa, OK., Bobby Leflore, and other Leflore Family Members, 16 grandchildren, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, two special friends: Erma Anderson, and Jeanetta Cooks. She was also an aunt and grandmother to Ronald McVay, Saxton Franklin, Lanita McVay (Reed), Christal Jones, Christopher Jones, Christie Jones, Shelly Jones, and Donald Ray Jones, Jr. whom preceded her in death.
Services for Mrs. Leora Lorene Williams, will be held on Wednesday January 6, 2010 at 11AM at St. Paul Trinity Holiness Church. The Apostle Ernest L. Jackson will officiate.
Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Tuesday from 12Noon until 7PM in Tulsa.
