IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Leroy Redricks,
Sr.
February 19, 1945 – March 6, 2024
"As We Reflect..."
On February 19, 1945, a handsome son was born to Isaac and Ruth Redricks. Leroy was the third eldest child and the oldest boy. He was born in Porter, Oklahoma and raised in Coweta, Oklahoma and went to Coweta High School.
Leroy had a lawn service business, and he worked for Hillcrest Hospital, City of Tulsa and retired after 27 long years at Wonder Bread Bakery.
Leroy loved fishing, hunting, westerns, dominoes and spending time with loved ones especially in his early years with "Cousin Ray" Ray Jones to which they were very close. He enjoyed food very much and was never one to waste a plate of food. His favorite foods were chitterlings, brown beans, ham with a piece of onion, and pizza from ol' Mazzio's along with a ham and cheese hoagie with fries and diet coke. He would spend summer afternoons on the porch with no shirt and an ice-cold beer and wave at everyone who passed by. Sometimes he would even fall asleep out there.
Leroy had a beautiful smile with and without teeth. There's an inside joke to this but we'll share it later. He was a very hard worker and a great provider for his family. A friendly soul he was and to never be forgotten. Never a man with too many words he was always thinking about something, and his facial expressions would definitely say so, if you were lucky, he would tell you. If you were to ask him what he was thinking, he would simply reply, "Oh Nothin`". If he met you for the first time he probably wouldn't say too much, just a wave and a friendly
smile or just a blank stare, the man was very observant! If you were to get to know him, he would open up a little more. If he really liked you, he would give you a nickname. Now that sealed the deal for sure. If you ask if he had a nickname and we started calling him Bruce to which he would respond every time. Leroy was waited on hand and foot by his wife Sharon, he enjoyed her cooking and fussing. She kept him on his toes as he did hers.
Leroy's mother Ruth Redricks and father Issac Redricks, wife Sharon Redricks, son Leon Redricks, sister Elizabeth Redricks-Know, Mary Louise Redricks, brothers Dale Wayne Redricks and Charles Redricks all preceded him in death.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory: of three children; in his first union with Alice Faye Redricks there is Leroy Redricks Jr. (Tina) Tulsa, OK, LaMorris "Peppy" Redricks, (Tulsa, OK); after that union dissolved, he later married Sharon Williams-Redricks and in that union daughter Monica Redricks (Tulsa, OK). Leroy and Sharon were together 40+ plus years and of those years they were married 27 of them. He also leaves by behind his grandchildren Eshea (Steven) Tulsa, OK, Gabrielle (Michael) Tulsa, OK, Yazmeen Redricks; great grand-daughter Shealyn Redricks, Phoenix, Josari and Yahmari; siblings, Bobbie Ruff (Tulsa, OK), Theodore Redricks (Tulsa, OK), Wanda Bolden (Raymond) (Tulsa, OK), Kathy Haywood (Tulsa, OK) and Esther Redricks; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- nephews, great-nieces, cousins, family and friends to continue his legacy.
