Obituary

On January 29, 1935 in Checotah, Oklahoma a bundle of joy was delivered to Sherman and Helen Chandler. They named their brand new baby boy Lester. Lester is the older of two children born to Sherman and Helen Chandler. Preceding him in death were his mother, Helen Geneva Chandler, his father, Sherman James Chandler and his brother Harold Sherman Chandler. He attended school in Rentiesville, Oklahoma and worked with the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Tulsa Transit, Special Events and Lester's Lawn Service.
He received Christ and was baptized at an early age. He worshiped at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Dr. L. L Tisdale and current Pastor Weldon L. Tisdale, Sr. Lester met his current wife, Roberta, at Friendship in 1982 and was later married her November 24, 1984. He loved the Usher Ministry and served on the Usher board for 30 years. Lester was active with the Seasoned Saints Ministry enjoying their monthly fellowship. He will be remembered for his contagious smile and sense of humor.
Lester leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 30 years, Roberta Chandler. His children: Kimberly Chandler of Tulsa, OK; Susan (Ray) Harrison of Muskogee, OK; Lester Chandler Jr. (Sheila) of Checotah, OK; Sherman Chandler (Tammy) of Rentiesville, OK; Shantell Chandler of Broken Arrow, OK; Christopher Robinson of Arizona; Ebony Chandler- Ballard of Castle Rock, CO; Eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services for Mr. Chandler will be Saturday November 29, 2014 at 10AM at Friendship Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Friends may visit Mr. Chandler from 1PM until 7PM in Tulsa.
