On the 21st day of October, 1955, the doors of Heaven opened and shined upon Dorothy Miller, blessing her with a beautiful baby girl. She named her new daughter Lillian Rose Miller.
Lillian grew up in the Arcade Community, where she received her education at Wainwright Elementary School and Boynton High School. Lillian attended Peter's Chapel A. M. E. Church and after maturing into a young woman, she met a gentleman, Roy Smith. After their love for one another blossomed, they were united for Thirty-three years. From their union, three daughters and a son was born.
Lillian truly enjoyed living the life God gave her. She always had a smile on her face. Shopping, sleep-overs with her granddaughters and playing board games with her grandson was no problem for her. She has always had a green thumb for gardening. Lillian enjoyed singing, dancing, cooking and having a good time. She also enjoyed traveling and watching movies.
Lillian Rose Smith, after a half-century, found sweet rest and peace with the Master on February 15, 2006 from Baylor Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Miller; a sister, Sandra Miller; three aunts; three uncles; a nephew, Joy Lee Miller; grandparents, Chester and Blanche Miller, Sr.; and a very special mother and father-in-law.
Her legacy will be remembered by her loving family; a devoted husband and best friend, Roy Smith, of the home in Haskell, Oklahoma; her children, Mattie and Roy Miller, Angelia Miller, Cynthia and Miguel Whitfield and Gregory and Angela Smith, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; a brother, Frank Taylor, Palo Alto, California; a dearest Aunt, Zelma Lowe, Taft, Oklahoma; two uncles, David and wife Betty Miller, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Reverend Hosie and wife Mary Miller, Haskell, Oklahoma; seventeen grandchildren; Shawnea, Jackee, Brandon, Domonic, Shavetta, Tamisha, Jordan, DeAndre, Keyonta, Davonta, Dejuan, Miguel Jr., Kolbee, DeAnthony, Ahmad, Demuntre and Trevon; and a caravan of other relatives and friends.
