Obituary

Christmas of 1952 was a special celebration in the lives of Leo Cazenave, Sr., and Leola Dalcour Cazenave. On December 30th of that year, they were blessed with a new daughter in Okmulgee and she was named Linda Marie Cazenave.

Linda was educated in Okmulgee attending Uganda Martyrs School, Attucks Elementary, Dunbar High and Okmulgee High before relocating to Louisiana, where she attended J. S. Clark High and graduated from Opelousas Senior High. Linda furthered her education by attending Spencer Business College in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was active in Girl Scouts, the band, choir and her church while growing up.

Linda lived in different areas of the nation, including Florida, Missouri and ultimately Texas, continuing her education and skill level in the business sector. Her last employ was with Exxon-Mobil in Accounting.

Linda met her soul-mate, George Durham over 25 years ago and their friendship developed into love, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on September 2, 2000.

Linda loved to cook, garden, read, take pictures, trail rides and traveling. She was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. She will be missed.

Angels escorted her in transition to eternity on November 4, 2006 from Houston, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents and a step-son.

Remaining to lament her passing; her devoted husband, George Durham, of the home in Houston, Texas; her mother, Leola Dalcour, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; a sister, Beverly Broyles [William], St. Louis, Missouri; a brother, Leo Cazenave, Jr., Okmulgee, Oklahoma; step-daughter, Evette Durham-Shannon [Lester]; step-son, Bryan Durham, all of Houston, Texas; along with other relatives and friends.
