Our beloved Sister,Mother, Grandmother and,Aunt was born on
September22, 1948 to Jesse Jole Grizzard sr. and Eva Mae Bowens
Grizzard in Mcintosh County. She departed this life on October 23,
2013,at the age of 65 years. She united in marriage to Earl Ligons Sr.
To this union, one son was born and later she was blessed with a
daughter. She was preceeded in death by her husband, her parents, a
sister, and two brothers, and a grandson.
She leaves to cherish her memory; one son Earl Ligons Jr.; one
daughter,Kasiana Ligons both of Oklahoma City; four granddaughters,
Cheyene and Kiara Ligons both of Houston, TX, Tempree Hyche Ligons,
Arlington, TX and Tiasha Ligons Tempe, AZ; two brothers Jerry and
Eugene Gizzard, both of Tulsa, OK; three sisters, Pearlie Mae Heard,
Haskell,OK, Corrine Dukes, Muskogee,OK and Shirley (Arnett) Richardson,
Oklahoma City; three brothers-in-law, Lester (Rosie) Ligons,
Grayson,OK, Chester Ligons, Wisconsin and Arnett Richardson; five
sisters-in-law, Rosie Ligons and Rose Lee, both of Grayson, OK, Pat
Grizzard, Oklahoma City, Helen Grizzard, Checotah, OK, and Pearl
Reagor, Tulsa, OK; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
She attended Warrior Elementary School and graduated from Checotah High
School. She later went to Blackwell Business College and after
graduating from there, she worked at FAA Aviation Center. At an early
age, she united with Morning Star Baptist Church under the pastorage of
the late Rev. George McGee. She later united with Trinity Missionary
Baptist Church under the pastorage of Dr. David E. Brooks, where she
held the longest membership. She loved the Lord, church, singing, and
also enjoying her grandkids and family. She was a whiz at all puzzles.
She enjoyed fishing until her health prevented her from continuing to
go. She will be missed by all who loved her.
A graveside ceremony will be shared on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 12 Noon in the Genesis cemetery at Grayson, OK.
