On April 8, 1951, Linda Mae Manning was born in Detroit, Michigan from the union of Freddie Manning and Clarece Ledbetter-Manning. Linda was the second child born to this union. Linda was raised in Muskogee, Oklahoma and attended Manual Training High School. Linda loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and was baptized for remission of her sins at an early age. She lived a blessed life and was very active in several local congregations and was a member of Rayfield Baptist Church while she lived in Muskogee. Though Linda loved living in Muskogee, she decided years ago to relocate to Norman, Oklahoma so she could spend time with her son, daughter in law, grand children and great grandchildren. She found a new church home when she moved to Norman at Everlasting Baptist Church.
Linda was well known around Muskogee and has countless friends and relatives who count themselves lucky to have known her. She was full of life and loved to be around other people. She enjoyed reading, word search puzzles, dancing, and spending time with family. Linda was a dedicated mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
This loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend was called to glory on January 15, 2020 at 1: p.m. at Cedar Creek Living Center in Norman. Linda is survived by two siblings, Freddie Jackson, Jr and Brenda Jackson both of Muskogee. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, four sisters and two brothers.
Linda's son Terran Manning is married to Felicia Craft-Manning and they reside in Norman. Linda was blessed to be able to spend time with her three grandchildren; Tiara Manning, Briana Manning and Darius Manning as well as her four great grandchildren Kendrick Manning, Kellen Manning, Brooklyn Manning and Kyrie Manning all who reside in Norman. Linda was very close to several of her nephews, Tony Jackson, Nathaniel Jackson, Latron and Neoshia Jolly, Adam Jolly (Deceased), Allen Jolly, Latron Jolly, Jr., Tyson Jolly, Adam (A.J.) Jolly, D.J Jolly and niece Angel Jolly. Special family friend Sheretta White and her family of Muskogee. Linda has numerous relatives who reside in Muskogee, Tulsa, Texas, California, Louisiana and the Kansas City area. The Rayfield Church family, the Everlasting Baptist Church family and other friends and family members across this country.
Her sacred farewell will commence on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the most holy sanctuary of the Rayfield Baptist Church. The Pastor, Reverend Leroy Walker, Sr., will officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.
