Obituary

Lionell Lee Rivers was born January 26, 1968 in the state of Kansas to Alta Mae White and was adopted at a really young age to Louise Smith-Nash known as momma and Charles Smith of Tulsa Oklahoma. Momma Louise called him Lee.  Lee resided in Tulsa with his four brothers Joe, Dave and Curtis Smith and Dejuan McNeil and one sister Luberta Bounds. Lee Rivers was a proud graduate of McClain High School in 1986.  In 1991 at the age of 23, Lee was ordained as a Minister under the leadership of his uncle Pastor George W. Payne at Outreach Ministry of Love Church. From that day until his death he was well known as Minister Lee. He taught Sunday-School for many years, Minister Lee was the master at playing the drums when it came to praising the Lord.   August 5 th 1996 he married Kim Stewart and to this union two children was born, Elijah Lee Rivers and Eleesha Nicole Rivers he also inherited a daughter Nicole Lenise Stidham, he later met Latoya DeJear and another daughter was born Aja DeJear. Minister Lee loved his children more than words could express and was proud to speak of them and show pictures.  After the death of his mother Louise. Minister Lee took in his cousin Alexander Haywood Payne in and raised him whom she was raising after the death of her sister.  He also spent a lot of time with his brother Dejuan McNeil encouraging him, but of all his brothers Joe was his favorite.  Minister Lee Rivers never met a stranger.  If you spoke with him he never missed the opportunity to tell you about the Goodness of Jesus. He was love by many.   Minister Lee was the hardest working man in Tulsa and did it with a smile.  When he saw you he greeted you with a big smile and the Word of God. Minister Lee ran a candy store out of his house for many years.  He was also known as the Candy Man. He loved people and helping those who had difficult challenges in their life.  Minister Lee Rivers was one of a Kind a Peculiar man. His laughter will forever be in our hearts.

He precedes in Death: Only son Elijah Lee Rivers, Mother Louise Smith-Nash and Father Charles Smith; two Brothers: Joe and Curtis Smith; and one sister Luberta Bounds.

He Leaves to Cherish his Memories: Three daughters : Eleesha Nicole Rivers : Aja DeJear, and Nicole LeNise Stidham; two brothers. David Smith, Dejuan McNeil, and a host of other family members and friends He will Truly be missed!!!
