Obituary

My journey in life began on March 11, 1976 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  My sister, Leslie Nicole Moss and I were blessed to come from the loving union of Lloyd E. Moss, Jr., and Alma [Baldridge] Moss.

My parents introduced me to Christ at an early age and I was baptized by the late Reverend Tommy McFrazier at Macedonia Baptist Church.  My father lit a fire in me when he introduced me to sports.  I played soccer, baseball, basketball and wrestling-but my love was always football.  I played in the Paul Young football league for the Jets, then on to the Eagles and ultimately I played for the mighty Roughers!  I graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1994.

After high school, I received a football scholarship to play at NEO, where I earned my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts.  I then went on to play football at Kansas Wesleyan, where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Health/Physical Education.  While attending college at NEO, I found my true love, my soul mate and my partner for life, Donjarnetta Holmes.  We were joined in Marriage on July 19, 2002.  To our union, we've been blessed with five boys;  James [JR], Trayvon [Tray], Jaylen [J], Darryan [Dar boy], and Kavion [Hawkie].

My boys are my pride and joy.  We all share the same love for sports.  I've raised my boys to work hard and always put Christ first in their lives.  One of my favorite words of encouragement;  "play every down as if it was your last game!"

I was employed with the Muskogee Public Schools as a Paraprofessional and Coach.  Coaching was my passion and I loved to coach each and every child, just as I have loved being there to coach my own boys.  One of my greates accomplishments was my AAU team and seeing the "potential' these kids have.  "Every child has Potential" is my motto and is how I coached these kids.

I found the "Victory with Jesus" on Monday, November 6, 2017 in Muskogee, Oklahoma.  Waiting to welcome me across the goaline to Glory was my son, Lloyd Laron Moss, my parents, grandparents and other loved ones who crossed before me.

My legacy lives on thru my wife, Donjarnetta "Dawn" Moss;  my children, James, Trayvon, Jaylen, Darryan, and Kavion; also, my loving sister, Nikki; along with a caravan of special cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, teammates and great friends.

My Tribute will commence on Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the most Holy sanctuary of the Timothy Baptist Church.  Pastor Kelly Payne is the gracious host Pastor, and Reverend Larry H. Smith, Sr., Pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church, will give the Eulogy.  I will rest in the Citizens cemetery with my relatives in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma.

You may visit Lloyd on Friday from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Rayfield Baptist Church.  On Saturday, visitation will begin at 12 Noon until 1:45 PM at Timothy Baptist Church.
