Ms. Lois D Wilson, in her 99th year, received her rest on Saturday morning, January 17, 2026 from her home in Okmulgee.
In the fall of 1926, the Lord blessed the loving union of Robert L. and Mary V. [Smith] Biglow on the 10th day of October with the birth of a bouncing baby girl. They named her Lois Doretha.
Lois was born in Okmulgee county, where she grew up in a Christian home. She accepted Christ and was baptized at the impressionable age of 12. Her life was a Christian race, beginning with her primary education at Southwest Elementary School, and later the Historic Dunbar High School in Okmulgee, followed by Teachers College in Chicago, Illinois.
She rounded the first curve of her race when she met a handsome gentleman, Leroy Wilson and their loved became holy matrimony. While living in Chicago, she worked at Pioneer Paper Company and later for the Board of Education before the family returned to live in Okmulgee. In Okmulgee, she worked as an instructor at Central State County Barn. She was a longtime member of Northwest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and served the Lord faithfully.
After the death of Leroy, Sr., she met up with an old school friend, Emzie Parker, Jr., and they were married for 6 years, before his death.
Sister Wilson was active in many social capacities during her life in Chicago as well as Oklahoma and loved hosting the annual family gathering during Memorial Day weekends.
Her Christian race, went from a sprint and through God’s grace and mercy, became a marathon from 1 lap to 99 laps. Lois D. Wilson got her victory and finished the race on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy L. Wilson, Sr., her parents, Robert and Mary Biglow, her daughter, Helen Brown and her son, Robert G. Wilson, Sr.; her brothers, Hilton and Milton Biglow, Alfred Biglow, and Arthur Biglow; her sisters, Maxine Austin and Carrie Mae Lewis, along with the rest of her Ancestors gone on before her.
She leaves in God’s care: her son, Deacon Leroy L. Wilson, Jr., [Toni{, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; her sisters, Erma Dean, Los Angeles, California and Joyce Byers [ Mike], Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a caravan of grandchildren, great-granchildren and great-great grandchildren; her sister in law and dear friends, Berniece Biglow, Sylvia Ruff and Norma Tuggle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, too numerous to count.
“Her wish is that everyone serve Jesus Christ!”
The Hour of Reflection will commence on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Eleventh Hour of the morning, in the most holy sanctuary of the Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Okmulgee. Dr. Douglas Currington is the gracious host Pastor and Reverend Leroy Crawford, Pastor of Northwest Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Presiding.
