Obituary

On June 23, 1932, a beautiful brown eyed baby girl was born to the late Reverend Q. L. (Babe) and Bama Barnes in Wagoner, Oklahoma. They named her Lola Mae "Marie" Barnes. Lola was the baby of twelve children. She was the last child born to Reverend Q. L. and Bama Barnes. Lola was a faithful, loving servant of the Lord and was baptized at an early age. Lola loved the Lord and was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Wagoner until her health began to fail.

Lola grew up in Wagoner and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1951. She met and married Bobby Roberson, Sr., in August of 1955, and of this union eight children were born, Bobby, Dwight, Johnny, Marshall, Marie, Calvin, Luther, and George. Lola held many titles such as Custodian, Caregiver to the Disabled, Homemaker, and the most important, Mother! Mother Lola worked hard to provide for her children and to instill in them love, a good work ethic, and passion for others. Mother Lola loved her family and church family dearly. Mother loved to sing and dance and dance she did! Anyone who knew Mother knew she was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment when she was around! Mother Lola loved life and lived her life to the fullest. Her laughter and smile were contagious and would brighten anyone's day. Mother Lola had a green thumb and could keep any plant livin' and thrivin'! Mother Lola loved
to fish with her sister, Ruth, and her boys. She never missed an opportunity to fish.
