To all things, there is a season. There is a season for life, and a season for death.
The season for life began for Lonnie Earl McConnell, Jr., on September 11, 1954 in Boynton, Oklahoma, when a loving, baby boy was born. He was the second of five boys born to Lonnie and Helen McConnell. Although he was named after his father, everyone knew him by his nickname, "Ronnie."
Ronnie professed a hope in Christ and accepted Him at an early age. He united with Cherryville Baptist Church. After graduating from Boynton High School, he furthered his education at Northeastern A. & M. College in Miami, Oklahoma. Later, Ronnie moved to Dallas, Texas and united with Ewing Avenue Baptist Church. He then journeyed to Chandler, Arizona for several years, where he united with the Mount Olive Baptist Church before finally returning to Dallas.
Ronnie loved to Rodeo. He loved to Bull Ride as well as ride Horses. He helped to organize a riding club in Dallas.
The season of death came on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 from Dallas Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was met at Heaven's gate by his father, Lonnie McConnell, Sr., and a brother, Garry McConnell.
