Obituary

It all began in Scott County, Mississippi, when Benjamin and Mary [Byrd] Wash were blessed with a daughter on July 12, 1926.  She was named Lorean Wash.

Lorean was a long time resident of Muskogee, Oklahoma, where she has  lived since leaving her childhood home in Mississippi at the age of 20.  Lorean was an only child and was raised by her father and Grandmother after her Mother passed. She was welcomed into the family by extended family members who helped nurture and shape her life.  The influence of these additional family members was greatly helpful in her development.  Her Father passed away when she was 13 years old. Grandmother Kitty Wash became her guardian and later they moved to Muskogee.

Her first marriage was to Mr. Harrison Ham Sr for which she bore three children. She was later married to Theodore Ted Cotton on Jan 06, 1947 who died while serving his country in the United States Navy

Lorean provided for her family through her employment as a Domestic Engineer for the Garrett Family for over 40 years and as an Elevator Operator and janitor for the Surity Buildingfor over 25 years.. She dedicated her life to her children and made everyday special. She often donated her money and time to charities for Military Veterans and for all children.
