On April 2 nd , 1943 in Wewoka, Oklahoma, a bouncing baby boy was born to William Robert Kemp and Herlena Mitchell Spencer and step-father Clyde Spencer. The proud parents named their son Louis Kemp.
He attended Douglas High School in Wewoka and later joined the United Stated Army where he received his GED. Louis was employed at the City of Wewoka where he later retired after 20 years. He was active member of the Wewoka Country Club where he enjoyed golfing and his friends.
On the evening of December 31, 2019, Mr. Louis L. Kemp in his 76 th Season finished his Earthly Course, made his Final Transition at Holdenville General Hospital.
Preceding Mr. Kemp in death are children: Leonard Kemp, Cornelia Kemp, and Roshanta Thomas, siblings: Clyde Tee Bruner, and Robert Kemp, brothers in law: Bishop Bobby Williams, and Earnest Edwards, nieces and nephews: NeNe Bruner, Scotty Bruner, Kylynn Ervin, and Arnell Kemp, and one grandchild Benny Ray Kemp.
He Leaves his wife of 51 years Ollie Ruth (Doolittle) Kemp. Also remaining to cherish his precious memory are, his Sons: Vernell and Amy Kemp of Wewoka, OK, Troy and Marilynn McClain Of Houston, TX, Charles and Tonya Kemp of Wewoka, IK, Mandrell and Lori Grant of Wewoka, OK, Randell Edwards of Oklahoma City, and Kevin Kemp Of Wewoka, daughters: Evetta and Curtis Alexander, Debra Kemp, and Reletta LeBlanc, his brother Arnold Gene Kemp, sisters: Wanda Williams of Oklahoma City, OK, Pauline Davis of Wewoka, OK and Vernice and Jerry James of Norman, Ok, along with a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Services for Mr. Kemp will be Friday January 10, 2020 at 11 O'clock in the Morning at New Life Church 121 W. 12th Wewoka, Oklahoma 74484
