Lovest Lovell Ponder, lovingly remembered by "Juice", "Shorty" and "LP" was born on September 16, 1931 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, the son of Edward and Anna Ponder.

He was known as a dynamic pool player and an excellent domino player. He also enjoyed playing the piano for his family. Lovest was a sensitive, kind man with a very caring and loving spirit. He was a wonderful father to all of his children. After the death of their mother, Mr. Ponder had the opportunity to raise three of his daughters as a single parent. He made sure that they had a formal education, religious education and instilled family values.

Lovest L. Ponder left this life on March 3, 2006 in Seattle, Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jay Ponder and Harold Griffin. He leaves to cherish a legacy of memories; his children, Elliott Thurman, Fremont, CA, Regina & Lenard Thompson, Beggs, OK, Kenneth Ponder, Livingston, TX, Joey Devonshire, Tulsa, OK, LeRoy & Velma Devonshire, West Plains, MO, Minister Billie & Lonnie Watkins, Sr., Hollis, OK, Gail Devonshire, Okmulgee, OK, Anna Speech, Seattle, WA, Johnny Coleman, Tulsa, OK, Lovine & Andre Montgomery, Renton, WA, Willena & Dwaine Adams, Seattle, WA, Tamara Seymore, Tulsa, OK; his siblings, Anne Ponder-Brown, North Augusta, SC, Leslie Ponder, Brenda Bell, Worley & Betty Holmes, Alois Holmes, and Shedrick Holmes, all of Tulsa, OK; 29 grandchildren; a caravan of great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 3:00 P.M. at the Evergreen-Washellie Funeral Chapel in Seattle, Washington.
