Obituary

Lovie Joy (Simpkins) Sewell, last child of Spencer and Rebecca (Craig) Simpkins, born December 18, 1944 and raised in IXL, OK.

Lovie was the widow of Willie Sewell, mother to Perrish Stevenson and Renee' Clark.   She was a primary resident of Oklahoma City, OK.  Until recently Lovie resided under the excellent care of Colonial Park Manor Nursing Home in Okemah, OK.  She rose up from her sick bed on heavenly wings to meet her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 16, 2025.

Lovie is preceded in death by both parents Spencer and Rebecca Simpkins, husband Willie Sewell; brothers, Spencer Simpkins, jr., Jones (JC) Simpkins; and sisters, Ruby Ramsey, Julia Owens and Bernice Officer.

A celebration of Life for Lovie Joy will take place on Saturday, March 29th, 12:00 noon at the Voice of Praise Baptist Church, 2200 East Culbertson Drive, Oklahoma City, OK  73105.

Mrs. Lovie Sewell,  after 80 years, received her "Crown of Glory" on Sunday afternoon, March 16, 2025 in Okemah, Oklahoma with her loving family near her side.

Services will be Saturday March 29, 2025 at 12PM at Voices of Praise Baptist Church - 2200 E. Culbertson Dr.  Oklahoma City, OK.

Visitation will be on Friday March 28, 2025 from 2PM - 6PM at Temple and Sons Funeral Directors, Inc. - 2801 N. Kelley Ave. Oklahoma City, OK.
