IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lucille
Washington
May 24, 1940 – December 31, 2023
On May 24, 1940, a beautiful baby girl was born to Lucille and
Fitzgerald Johnson. The union named her Lucille. Lucille
accepted Christ at an early age. She taught Sunday school,
and she loved reading her Bible. Lucille also loved listening to
gospel music. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 23.
Lucille attended school in Tyler, Texas, and she would
eventually go on to marry James A. Washington, Sr. Prior to
her marriage, Lucille had a child named Willie Ray Johnson. Lucille
and her husband went on to birth four beautiful children. The
union had a daughter named Jean Washington (deceased) and
three sons, Ronny Washington (deceased), James Washington,
Jr., and Lonny Washington. Lucille enjoyed raising all of her
children, and she cherished them very much.
Outside of her time of mothering, she worked as a dietary
assistant in nursing facilities. Lucille enjoyed serving and
helping others, and she sacrificed countlessly during her time
as an employee.
In addition to working hard and being an amazing mother,
Lucille mostly enjoyed cooking. Lucille loved to spread her
love through a good meal, and she enjoyed socializing with
family and friends. Lucille loved anyone who came her way,
and she had a heart of gold.
Lucille leaves to mourn: her children, Willie Ray Johnson of
Oklahoma City, James A. Washington, Lonny W. Washington
of Tulsa, OK; she leaves Edna Narze, Nicholas, Dustin, Kim
Bell, Brooklyn, Dante, Bre, and June Taylor; she leaves her
grandchildren, JaQuey Dabbs, Bella Dabbs, Dominic Naize,
Malia Naize, Brandon, and Bryson and Jacque Steele; she leaves
her extended family, Antt Ball, John, Eatifa, Soni Marcus, and
Jaeirel; and she leaves her special friends, Emmitt Francis,
Erma Bradford, Sarah Kathy, Ruben Johnson, Tommy Lote,
and Chris F. Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucille and
Fitzergerald Johnson; daughter, Jean Washington; son,
Ronny Washington; and brothers, Rudy Johnson and Richard
Johnson. She was followed by her sisters, Lulsa Mae Strait,
Erma Miler, Ree Margee Bradford, and Nancy Mckill.
Lucille will be sorely missed by all of her loving family and
friends.
