In a small community in Okmulgee County called Olympia Settlement, a baby boy was born from the union of Lucious and Ila [Perkins] Belton, Sr. on September 18, 1922. The youngest of four children, he was named Lucious Belton.

Better known as "Pee Wee" to all who knew him, Lucious grew up in Olympia. Later, the family moved to Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where he spent most of his life.

Mr. Belton proudly served his country by joining the 3 C Camp during World War II. After his return from the war, Lucious began a career working for the Railroad until his retirement.

He was a member of a spiritual quartet, singing baritone and also had a program on the radio every Sunday morning. He took pride in his way of life, was a sharp dresser and attended church every Sunday. He joined Osage Avenue Christian Church at a young age and was an ordained Deacon. He remained a member there for the duration of his life. He married Ludie May Few, from which no children were born.

The close of his life came on Saturday evening, June 10, 2006 from Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Willie Nathaniel and Marion [Mable] Belton as well as a sister, Ethel Lee.

His memory will forever be cherished by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and the dear friends that provided special care during his senior years. May God bless each of you and God Bless Uncle Pee Wee.

The final hour will be on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Peace at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee. You may visit "Pee Wee" on Wednesday from 12 Noon to 6 PM.

Final resting place will be in Okmulgee Cemetery.
