God Saw You
God watched as you suffered
And knew you had your share.
He gently closed your weary eyes
And took you in his care.
God has you in his keeping
We have you in our hearts.
Your memory is our keepsake
And with that we'll never part. God saw you were getting tired
And a cure was not to be, he put His arms around you
And whispered, "Come with Me"
With tearful eyes we watched you surrender
And saw you fade away.
Although we loved you dearly,
We could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard-working hands at rest.
God broke our heart to prove to us
He only takes the best.
