Lula Mae was born to Robert Coleman, Sr. and Sammie Lee Rhodes in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, where she remained her entire life. She was the oldest of nine children in the family.
Her last union was to Lincoln Wilson, who also preceded her in death. From this union, she inherited a second family, which she cherished. One other union was with Troy C. Huddleston, who also preceded her in death.
Lula Mae worked hard to raise her children. She was the owner of the Sunset Cafe and operated it for many years. Later, she worked for Okmulgee Head Start as a cook. She spent her last years enjoying her home and encouraging her grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilson was a lover of flowers. Her children and grandchildren made sure she received plenty while she lived. When she celebrated her 85th birthday, she looked forward to her 90th birthday. Her wish was to have a big party on her 90th birthday, which her children provided. For her, it was a momentous occasion.
Her home was always open. She loved to feed people and always had food to offer. Her children and grandchildren loved to gather for her strawberry cobbler. Being the oldest, her siblings looked up to her and she relished the role.
Mrs. Wilson was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church until her health prevented her from attending. She passed away on Saturday evening, February 24, 2018 from her home in Okmulgee. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings.
She leaves to mourn her passing; her sons, Otis [Zelma] Snell, Choctaw, Oklahoma, Lenard Joe Wilson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Johnny Lee [Ernestine], Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Ricky Wilson, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Charles Edward [Alisa] Walker, Topeka, Kansas; three daughters, Emma Jean [Rudy] Nelson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Diane [Ray] Colbert, Okmulgee, Oklahoma and Della [Oscar] Higgs, Okmulgee, Oklahoma; three sisters, Opaline Hally, Chandler, Arizona, Ora Barnes and Myra Marie Ferring, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers, Sam Harvey, Chandler, Arizona and James Coleman, Tulsa, Oklahoma; along with a caravan of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces nephews, family and friends.

Burial will follow in the Sharp Cemetery, southwest of the city.
