IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lynette Katrice
Ivey
June 29, 1976 – October 28, 2016
On June 29, 1976, in Oklahoma City, OK, a beautiful, yet nosey little girl was born to the union of Judson Jr. and Joyce Fields. They named her Lynette (Lynn) Katrice Fields. The family moved to Okmulgee, OK in 1979 where she spent her formative years and she excelled in school.
Lynn received Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized by her Father at the Macedonia Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of the late C.J. Jeffrey. She later joined the Union Baptist Church, not knowing that in God's time, she would become the First Lady of Union Baptist Church. Lynn served as a youth director and was a devoted choir member.
Lynn graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1994 and attended Connor's State College in Warner, OK. After leaving Connor's, Lynn attended Tulsa Junior College where she met the love of her life, Jerell Ivey. On May 8, 1998, they were united in Holy Matrimony. From this union of 18 years, Lynn's greatest blessings were born, Jordan and Christian. Lynn loved her children with all her heart and wanted to be a great role model for them, so she returned to college to complete her degree. In May 2016, she received her Associates Degree in Sociology and even made the Dean's honor. She was in the process of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in the same area.
Lynn loved her family and spoke with her Mother and sister, Stacey multiple times a day. She also adored her niece and nephew, Vincent and Laila, whom she called her Poo Poo and Froo Froo. They loved their Naynie. She also held a special relationship with her Mother-In-Love, Donericia (Dee) Landrum.
Throughout the years, Lynn worked at Citizens Bank and Trust, the State of Oklahoma Child Support Division and was currently employed with the Muscogee Creek Nation Child Support Division. Lynn built relationships with several of her co-workers and not only considered them friends, she considered them family. Lynn was truly loved and admired by many, many people. She enjoyed singing, telling jokes, and collecting Rustic Cuff bracelets. Lynn was full of life, had a bubbly personality and never met a stranger. She called herself (PYT-Pretty Young Thang) and was the Queen of selfies.
Preceding her in death: maternal grandparents, Mae Ollie and William Grayson; paternal grandparents, Judson Sr. and Nettie Fields.; Aunts Maxine Grayson, Elnetta Franklin, Mildred Wilson, Oneta James and Uncle Paul Fields.
Lynn leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jerell; daughter Jordan and son Christian of Grayson, OK; her parents, Dr. Judson Jr. and Joyce Fields, Okmulgee, OK; her sisters Stacey (William) Harris of Broken Arrow, OK, and Alkila Gray of Tulsa, OK; her nephew and niece, Vincent and Laila Harris. She also leaves her aunts Dora Henry, Patricia (John) Mosley, Ora Lee (Monroe) Hester, ODonna Fields and Paulzetta Fields, uncles Joe (Erma) Grayson, George Grayson, Earnest (Aezelia) Fields, Ledford Fields, Dr. Marcellus (Brenda) Fields, her special cousin Jay Mosley and a host of relatives and a caravan friends.
The Celebratory Service honoring her life will commence on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 10:00 AM in the most holy sanctuary of the St. Matthew's Baptist Church. Reverend McKinley Rice is the gracious host Pastor, and her husband, Reverend Jerell Ivey, will deliver the Eulogy.
