On February 8, 1928 in Tulsa, Oklahoma , a beautiful baby girl was born to M.C. Hudspeth and Mable Shaw Hudspeth. She was the apple of their eyes. Both parents preceded her in death. She attended Tulsa Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1945.
Her mother was a member of St. Andrew Baptist Church when Mable was born so she joined at an early age and remained a faithful servant there until her demise.
In 1945 she met James E. Farley Sr. on the steps of St. Andrew and they were soon married. To that union six children were born, three preceded her in death.
Mable was a housewife for many years before venturing outside the home. She worked for Dr. William Morton as his nursing assistant until his demise, then she ventured out to assist her oldest son as the secretary for Farley Janitorial Services until her retirement.
Mable would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, a sort of an offer you can't refuse for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with family and friends she has not seen for a long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be singing, dancing and whistling to her heart's content. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce (so she won't have to worry about those hips).
She leaves to celebrate her home going: a son, James E. Farley Jr. of Tulsa; daughters Letricia Lewis of Tulsa and Myrnice Yvette Robinson (Henry) of Houston Texas; six grandsons, Tyrone Farley, Michael Farley ( Erica) , Ashon Farley (Christine), Milan Lewis (Oceanie), Jaumel Farley (Vanessa), and Brian Robinson; one granddaughter, BreAuna Robinson; three great grandsons, 5 great granddaughters, 2 great, great grandsons and a host of relatives, adopted children and friends.
Services will be Friday September 23, 2016 at 11AM at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Tulsa.
The public may visit Mother Farley on Thursday from 11AM until 7PM inside Tulsa's All Faiths Chapel.
Interment will follow the service Friday at Rolling Oaks Memorial Gardens.
