Obituary

On January 3, 1940, Harold and Ora Lee Graham had a special reason to celebrate, the birth of their baby daughter whom they named Maggie Lee Graham.

Maggie received her education in Fort Gibson schools and later continued her education in Muskogee at Manual Training High School. She became a member of the Old Agency Baptist Church, where she remained an active member and faithful member until her health declined.

Earlier in life, Maggie worked at Owens-Illinois [Brockway Glass Company] for 17 years. and received full retirement on April 2, 1993. In addition to raising her three loving children, a daughter, Kathy and two sons, Craig and Kevin, she also kept dear to her heart a young man, Samuel, whom she considered her very own.

Later in life, Maggie met and married Johnny Simmons of Taft, Oklahoma. This union was later dissolved.

Maggie's Christian life was very well known and surely influenced those who knew and loved her. Her fun loving spirit was full of joy to all her family and friends; the life Maggie lived will always be a testimony for others.

On Wednesday morning, December 12, 2007, the Lord gently closed Maggie's loving eyes and whispered "rest my child, for you work here is done." She was preceded in death by her parents and a baby brother.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her children, Kathy A. and Lansing Lee, Craig A. and Portia Graham and Kevin D. and Athena Graham, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and Samuel L. and Bonnie Brown, Wylie, Texas; two brothers, Harold Graham, Jr., and Frederick Graham, and her sister with whom she shared one beating heart with, Juanita Brown, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma. Maggie had several grandchildren whom she adored, Ashley L. Graham-Rooks [Stephen], LaShawnna, Skylar, Jasmyne, Quinton, Krista and Terri [Melvin]; three great-grandchildren who lit up her life, Shea'leigh, Richard and M'Khya; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many great friends.

The tribute will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. in the Timothy Baptist Church. Pastor Kelly Payne is the gracious host pastor and Rev. Walter Brown, Officiating. The Christian committal will be in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery.

You may visit "Maggie" as she slumbers at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon to 6 PM.
