On a bright Monday morning in Haskell, Oklahoma, a baby boy was born to Odis and Margaret Ransom. They named him Malcolm Douglas. "Mike," as he was so fondly referred to by many, grew up and received his education in Tulsa. He would go on to graduate from Central High School with the proud Class of 1977.
Mike's junior year in high school was spent in Haskell, where he excelled in basketball leading toward a potential scholarship. But due to leg injuries suffered in an accident, he was unable to play the sport he loved anymore. Mike was liked by many, and loved by all. He was baptized in the Baptist Church of Elk City in 1994.
On the evening of Sunday August 5, 2007 Malcolm Douglas Ransom, Sr. departed his earthly house for a house not made with hands.
