Margaret Ann Ellerby-Reece was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 25, 1937. She was the fourth of nine children from the loving union of Caledonia Harper and John Thomas Ellerby.
Margaret attended Wheatley Elementary, Sadler Junior High and ultimately, the Historic Manual Training High School, where she was a proud graduate with the illustrious Class of 1956. She later attended Draughn Business College. During her lifetime, she had the privilege of working in many vocations, such as banking and clerical duties.
She met W. T. Reece, and after falling in love, they remained married for 47 years. No children were born to this union.
Margaret was active at Old Agency Baptist Church and was baptized at an early age. She later united with her husband at Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Ben W. Noble, and they both re-established their membership with Saint Mark Baptist Church under former Pastor Mark Williams.
Margaret was a kind woman, with a quiet spirit and loved nurturing her yard and working in her flower bed. She was also an exceptional seamstress. One could never tell the difference in her clothing or the department store items.
