Obituary

Marilyn Frances Collins Marshall was born on November 14, 1946 in Warrensburg, Missouri to Ernest C. and Mary R. Collins.

She was the oldest of 9 children and graduated from high school in Burns Flatt, Oklahoma, where her father served in teh United States Air Force at Clinton-Sherman Air Force Base.

She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State College at Weatherford, Oklahoma, where she met her lifelong sweetheat. She married Roy E. Marshall on October 9, 1966. The couple first made their home in Lawton, Oklahoma-the birthplace of their first child. In 1968, the young family relocated to Tulsa, and gave birth to their second child in 1970.

Although Marilyn served as a volunteer for a number of years with the Tulsa Public School System and as a Sunday School teacher at Highland Park Christian Church, she was primarily a homemaker taking care of her family.

Her interests included arts and crafts, picnics, bowling, tennis and fishing. Marilyn was well known for her "care packages" sent to family and numerous others alike. Her signature oversized handbag was always full of foddies, treats and cash.

Marilyn was the unofficial family historian and corresponding secretary, sending birthday cards, greeting cards and letters faithfully to many. Her skills in stretching a dollar were also legendary, as Marilyn enjoyed shopping at discount and outlet stores. Marilyn enjoyed collecting shoes and clothing, a hereditary trait that has passed to her children.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary R. Collins and a sister, Linda J. Rucker.
