Obituary

Mrs. Marissa McNac, after 65 years with us, dozed into the tranquil peace of eternal slumber on Friday afternoon, March 5, 2021 from her home in Oktaha, Oklahoma.

Marissa Elizabeth was born on November 8, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri from the union of the late Glodean Denson harvey and Oscar Powell.


Marissa received her elementary education in Kansas City, Missouri at the Catholic Montessori School. She furthered her education in the Muskogee Public Schools, where she graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 974. She the attended Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
Marissa began her work career as a medical unit clerk for 10 years at Muskogee General Hospital. In 1987, she began a new career as a Mechanical Engineer for Georgia Pacific, where she rendered 31 years of loyal service prior to her retirement.


Mrs. McNac was an active member of First Missionary Baptist Church for the past 21 years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, shoping and visiting with family and friends. She was loved by many and will be truly missed by everyone.


On Friday afternoon, March 5, 2021, Marissa Elizabeth McNac, in her 65th year with us, "Fell asleep on This side, but woke up in Glory" from her home in Oktaha, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her sister, her son Eric and her grandson, Jayden.


She leaves in God's care to cherish her precious memory; her loving husband of 46 years, Ronnie McNac Sr.; her sons, Corey McNac, Oktaha, Oklahoma and Ronnie [Katrena] McNac, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Ronnie [Trey] McNac, III, Marquel, Tailore, Kaleb and Kayden McNac, all of Texas; 6 great-grandchildren, Taylon, Jordyn, Azai, Kendall, Skylar and Carter, all of Texas; 3 sisters, Denise [Johnnie] Morgan, Garland, Texas, Natalie [Torrance] Clemmons, Desoto, Texas and Dana [Willie Fred] Patrick, Killeen, Texas; and a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Hour of Remembrance for Marissa will commence on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the Boulevard Christian Church.  Reverend Cleo Baccus, Pastor of First Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit her on Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM at the funeral home in Muskogee.
