Mrs. Marjorie Lonzetta [Whittaker] Davis, in her 73rd season, took her eternal walk into Heaven on Saturday, December 20, 2008 from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She was born in Okmulgee, the daughter of Lon and Mary [Reagan] Whittaker on July 31, 1935. She grew up in Okmulgee and attended school here, graduating from Dunbar High School with the Class of 1953.
She loved traveling, sewing and creating with her hands. She was a professional seamstress and enjoyed talking, laughing and giving advice to others.
She was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Davis, her parents, a son, Rodney, and 2 sisters.
Remaining to lament her passing; her children, Marnita Davis-Seward and Alesia Davis, both of Tulsa, Donetta "Tee" Burke and Dracy Taylor, Cedar Hill, Texas and Gregory "Folks" Davis, Okmulgee; her siblings, Lonnie [Abbie] Whittaker, Jr., Charles Whittaker, Robert [Rebecca] Whittaker, Leatrice [Melvin] Andrews, Farina [Terry] Tyson, Debra Johnson and Darlene Whittaker; 11 Grandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The final tribute will be on Friday, December 26, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the St. Matthew Baptist Church. Rev. McKinley Rice, Pastor, will officiate.
