Merely Three Hours into Sunday Morning, January 27, 2008, God called together his Angels and said "go down to Earth, in Tulsa, Oklahoma and pick up my special Angel, Mark McClain and bring him to me."
Mark Anthony McClain was born into this world on July 12, 1965 to the late Velma Jean McCLain. He joins his mother and best friend, Paula Reed in Glory.
Mark accepted Christ at an early age. He developed a passion for singing under the leadership of the late Maxine Leffall. Her encouragement lead him to sing for numerous occasions. Mark also had a love for people; he never met a stranger-he would stop to help anyone. He enjoyed "LIFE" to the fullest.
After graduating with the Class of 1983 at Muskogee High School, Mark chose to use his talents as a caregiver and provided to those in need at several long term nursing facilities. Later, Mark went to work at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. He moved to Fayetteville, North Carolin in 2005, where he became a member of New Vision Christian Church. In November of 2007, Mark returned to Oklahoma, where he remained until his death.
As long as we have memories, Your yesterday remains; as long as we have hope, we know your life was not in vain. God saw that Mark was getting tired and a cure was not to be; He put his arms around him and whispered, "Come to me." We bow in humble submission with humility to God's plan, as we commend him to God's special care.
Those who remain to treasure the time spent with Mark; his siblings, Frank [Patricia] McClain, Stillwater, Oklahoma, Beverly [Joseph] Herbert, Sheila McClain, Madill, Oklahoma, Michael [Terry] McCLain, Juliette McClain, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Faye McClain, Linda McClain and Reggie ]Bethaney] McClain, Muskogee, Oklahoma, LaTosha McClain, Fayetteville, North Carolina; two aunts, Leona Hunt, Omaha, Nebraska and Vester Booker, Los Angeles, California; along with a caravan of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The final tribute will be on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Divine Love Christian Fellowship. Pastor Michael Webber will officiate. Burial will follow in the Booker T. Washington Cemetery in Muskogee. You may visit Mark, as he slumbers at the funeral home on Friday from 12 Noon to 7 PM.
