Obituary

On July 4th, 1962 a baby boy was born to Isaac & Beatrice (Goodloe) O'Guin. They named him Mark Anthony, but he was affectionately known to everyone as "Peabody." He was the last of 9 children.

Born & raised in Northwest Community of Okmulgee County, he attended Preston Public Schools, graduating with the class of 1980.

Peabody accepted Christ at an early age, attending Northwest Baptist Church. He later joined Greater Mount Rose Baptist Church  under the leadership of Reverend Earl Tottress. He was a hard worker, skilled laborer, and an all-around cowboy. He never met a stranger and always had a smile or a joke for you when you needed it the most.

On Sunday, April 20, 2025, God called Peabody home. He was welcomed by his parents, Isaac and  Beatrice, along with his sister Elvira June.

He leaves to cherish: his son Antonio (Cesily) O'Guin of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Arielle Simon of Tulsa, Oklahoma; siblings Patricia (Andrew) Verner, Ruth Ella Washington, Sandra (Clay) Embry all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Darl O'Guin of Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Gary (Denise) O'Guin of Locust Grove, Georgia, Linda Williams, & Joyce (Leroy) Crawford all of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; his grandchildren Ayden and Chrystian O'Guin; Johnathan and Jaya McCane; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, & family.

Service of Memory for Mr. O'Guin will commence on Saturday afternoon, April 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the most holy sanctuary of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 North Miami Avenue.  Reverend Dr. Douglas Currington is the gracious host Pastor, with Reverend Hollis Washington, Officiating  and Reverend Earnest Kellum, III, Pastor of Rogers Chapel Baptist Church, Slick, Oklahoma, to deliver the Eulogy.

You may visit "Peabody" as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc., of Okmulgee on Friday between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM..

Honoring his wishes, Mr. O'Guin will be cremated and his ashes scattered, with instructions under the auspices of Keith Biglow.
