IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mark Allen
Reaves
September 15, 1964 – March 16, 2019
September 15, 1964 welcomed the last of five boys to Willie and Erma Jean [Ingram] Reaves in Summit, Oklahoma. Mark Allen Reaves was born in the same house from which he left this earth.
Mark confessed Christ as his personal savior at an early age at First Baptist Church of Summit. Affectionately referred to as "Smoke," Mark attended grade school at Dubois Elementary and graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class of 1982. After graduation, he entered Job Corp in Guthrie, Oklahoma, where he graduated with a certificate in building maintenance.
On August 21, 1984, he and Tracye Green welcomed a baby girl, Brandi Shantell Reaves. Mark moved to Dallas, Texas and began working for Overhead Doors, before finally working for himself, installing and repairing garage doors. He loved what he did and was very good at it. Most of his business came from word of mouth.
Mark loved his family and friends. He had a caring and unselfish spirit that will be missed by many. On any given weekend, he could be found cooking or barbecuing as if he were feeding an army or cruising the Texas area for car shows with friends in his '67 Buick Wildcat, which was his pride and joy next to his daughter. "Smoke" was always the jokester, no matter where he was, whom he was with or what the situation was. His distinctive laughter was contagious-it came from deep in his belly. If you heard it, you knew it was him without having to turn and look. Mark had an extra special love for his mom, known to many as Jeanie. It was that love that brought him back to Summit, where he took his last breath. He cherished his brothers and talked to them often. He and Sam lived only a mile apart and talked to or saw each other daily.
Mark Allen Reaves, in his 54th year, "Finished Early" on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from Muskogee, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his father, Reverend Willie Reaves.
