On January 23, 1947, the oldest girl of 13 children, Martha Roberson, was born to Margie [Syas] and Willie Roberson.
Martha attended Okmulgee Public School, graduating from Historic Dunbar High School. After graduation, she met the love of her life, Herman Richard. Their union was blessed with 2 children. She loved her children and did all she could for them, the best she knew how.
Martha was like a mother to all of her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed attending family gatherings and class reunions with her best friend since the 6th grade, Ms. Lucille Finley. Her life's vocation was housekeeping and her two major employers were St. John Medical Center for nineteen years adn the Tulsa Nursing Center for eleven years.
On January 4, 2009, with her closest family near her side, Donna Roberson Richard, after 61 years, traded life for everlasting. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margie Roberson and three brothers, Matthew, Bill and Wydell Roberson.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her father, Willie Roberson; two sons and two daughters-in-law, Mark and Monique Richard, Tulsa, Oklahoma and Robert L. Richard, Tampa, Florida, and Cherry Richard, of Maryland; her grandchildren, Marques, DeMarco, Dominique, all of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Parrish and Julian Richard, Virginia; three sisters, Paulette Thompkins, Texas, Ella Jean Roberson and Mablene Jones, Tulsa, Oklahoma; five brothers, Willie Roberson, Jr., Carson, Darnell Roberson, Jimmie Lee Roberson, Dave Roberson and Leon Roberson; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The farewell service will be on Thursday, January 8, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. in the All Faiths Chapel of the funeral home in Tulsa.
Burial will follow in the Cane Creek Cemetery at Boynton, Oklahoma.
