Obituary

Earnest Thomas, in his 58th year, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Friday, September 2, 2005, where he will re-unite with other family member who preceded him in death. He accepted Christ into his life at a young age and was a member of Christ of the World Church. "Earnie" as he was affectionately referred to by his many friends and family loved attending Church and also enjoyed visiting other churches in the area. He was born Marvin Thomas on May 25, 1947 to Johnnie and Elsie Barnes Thomas. He was a twin brother to Berniece. Earnie and his family moved to Summit, where he and Berniece attended School. Following the death of their parents, they moved to Muskogee to live with their Grandmother, Pinky Thomas. In the early 1980's, Earnie married Patricia Evans, who preceded him in death in 1990. He remained with his mother-in-law, Mrs. Evans. Earnie affiliated with INCOR [also known as SWAP] in 1980 and remained with the agency until his death. He looked forward to the various activities sponsored by INCOR. He was especially fond of participating in Special Olympics, dancing, fishing and bowling. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys and followed them faithfully. Earnie was a dedicated and hard worker. He was employed at several establishments over the years, including Bank First, DHS in Muskogee and Warner, and Orkin Pest Control as a janitor. At the time of his death, he was employed at the West Side McDonalds and at INCOR as an assembler. Earnie touched many lives and his memories will be forever in our hearts. He leaves behind; a son, Timothy Thomas; his twin sister, Berniece Thomas; a brother, Isaiah Martin; and a host of friends. A memorial service for Earnie will be held at Central Missionary Baptist Church on Monday, September 12, 2005 at 10:00 A.M.
