Obituary

On February 21, 1921, a beautiful baby girl was born in Paris, Arkansas from the union of Bessie and Lewis Green. She was the first born of four girls. Mary attended school and was raised in Paris, Arkansas, where she entered into a relationship with Clarence Greg. From this relationship, Clarence Green was born.

After this relationship concluded, she later met and married Herbert Tom Arnold. This union was blessed with the birth of Reba Arnold [Patterson]. After the death of her husband, Mary and family relocated to Muskogee, Oklahoma. She lived the remainder of her life in Muskogee, where she was a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She was employed at Muskogee High School as a custodian and also worked as a housekeeper, as well as other service positions during her lifetime.

Those who knew Mary, knew her to be a very humble woman. She never had a bad day. She was family orientated and was the Figure Head and Rock of the family, outside of being a mother and grandmother. Mary always took pride in herself, even in her prime, she could run with the best of them.

Mary entered Heaven's gates on Thursday, October 16, 2014, when God placed a kiss on her forehead, letting her know her work here on earth was done; She took hold of God's unchanging hand, leaving behind to cherish her memories; her daughter, Reba Arnold [Patterson], Muskogee, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Herman [RaQuonna] Patterson, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Tina Patterson, Cynthia Patterson [Nate Jr.], all of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Ursula Green, Manika Green and Demetrius Brown, all of Oakland, California; her great-grandchildren, LaToya Patterson [Markeith], Montoya Patterson [Charles], Cherrelle Patterson, Simmion Patterson and DeMarco Patterson, all of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Lacrisha Patterson, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Quantrel [Shawnte] Baker, Shauntrel Baker, all of Muskogee, and Jasmine Thompson, Oklahoma City; Marquis Brown, Itilia Green and Skye Dailey, all of Oakland, California; her sister, Geneva Jones, Little Rock, Arkansas; a special friend, Melton Brooks; a very close friend, Juanita Davis, all of Muskogee; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary is now rejoicing in Heaven with her husband, Herbert Arnold, her parents, Bessie and Lewis Green, her sisters, Laura Robbins and Louie Grand, and her great-granddaughter, Sharbr'e Berry.

The Hour of Tribute will commence on Friday, October 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Beebe Memorial CME Church. Reverend Fedro Givens is the gracious host Pastor and Reverend William Brown, Officiating.
