Obituary

On April 27, 1932, a precious rose blossomed from the union of Rebert and Dorothy Manning in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They named her Mary Louise. Mary grew up on the historic Lansing side on Kenosha St. Lovingly referred to as "Lou," she received her education in Tulsa Public Schools and obtained a Nurse's Assistant Certificate from the Oklahoma State Department of Health. She worked at Green Country Nursing Home as a Health Care provider until her retirement in 1998.

Mary lived a very colorful and eclectic life starting from owning her on business as an entrepreneur in the club and restaurant arena. However, "The Lord began to work on her" and she began to have a change of heart. Lou became a very compassionate person in her later years, left a legacy of caring and sharing in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. During her lifetime her home was always open to her family members, taking care of her grandmother and youngest brother when their health failed, and letting family stay with her until they got back on their feet in a time of need. She was an active member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and enjoyed Sunday school and debuting her brother-in-law Sammy Mack.

On Wednesday morning October 9, 2008, her Father decided to add one more rose to His garden. Her parents and five brothers preceded her in death. Remaining to cherish her precious memories: her loving children: Darnett L. Roberts, Ramona, OK., Gregory Mack, Oklahoma City, OK., and James W. Mack, sisters: Lerlene Johnson, Tulsa, OK., Ardie Ray Roberts, Tulsa, OK., grandchildren: Christa Cobbins, Corry Roberts, Tanara Robers, Derrick Mack, Jamia Mack, Porsha Ried, Jala Mack, Adrian Mack; 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, Angel Jefferson.

Services will be Tuesday October 14, 2008 at Metroplolitan Baptist Church in Tulsa. Visitaion will be Monday from 12Noon to 7PM in Tulsa.
