Mr. Matthew David Jenkins, after 40 years, surrendered his soul on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from Muskogee.

Matthew was born in Kansas City, Kansas on August 15, 1969, the son of Aubrey Camden and Doris McCawley.

He moved with his family at a very young age to Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he grew up and attended public schools there on the west campus. He moved to Muskogee in 1989 and had lived here since that time.

Mr. Jenkins worked as a handyman, was a great father and was described as a "gentle giant" by those who knew him well. He would give you the shirt off his back, loved his family and was a great husband that took care of his wife.

He leaves to cherish his memory; his wife, Shawn Decker-Jenkins, of the home in Muskogee; his sons, Jordan Jenkins, Gravette, Arkansas and Region "Jake" Law Jenkins-Camden, Muskogee, as well as other sons; his daughters, Brandi K. Yeakley, Winslow, Arkansas and Candi K. Yeakley, Fayetteville, Arkansas, as well as other daughters; his mother, Doris Camden, Muskogee; his brothers, Roger [Mary] Jenkins, Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Eugene Camden and Charles Whittmore, both of Muskogee; his sisters, Angela Rives, Lincoln, Arkansas and Audrey DeAnn Ofield, Muskogee; one grandchild, Troy Ivan David Frazier; along with other relatives and friends.

The final hour will be on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in God's Powerhouse Ministries. Pastor Charlie Ford, Officiating. Burial will follow in Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee.

You may visit Mr. Jenkins, as he slumbers in peaceful repose at the funeral home on Monday from 10 AM to 6 PM and on Tuesday from 9 AM to 12 Noon.
