On March 29, 1922, in Luther, Oklahoma Pearlee Threat and Datch Kelly was blessed with a bouncing baby girl. They named their bundle of joy Meda Jean. Mother Burleson spend most of her life in Wichita, Kansas where she married Roy Burleson. While in Wichita, she labored 27 years with the Cucchay Packing Company, and then retired.
After moving back to Oklahoma, Mother Burleson join the Northside Evangelistic Temple Church of God in Christ where she was a licensed missionary, and remained active in the ministry until her health began to decline. On August 7, 2005, at the age of 83, Mother Burleson answered her Father's Call.
Waiting to see Mother Burleson once more: Husband Roy Burleson, Okmulgee, OK, 1 son Wesley and Mary Sullivan, Okmulgee, OK, 3 daughters, Charlotte and Claborn Cowans, Rhonda Burleson Okmuglee, OK, Yolanda Jenkins, Wichita, KS, 1 sister, Rosie Poole, Luther, OK, nine grandchildren, thirty-five great-grand children, two great great-grand children, along with a host of neices, nephews and friends. Mother Burleson's Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 11 A.M. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 1500 N. Miami in Okmulgee, OK. Elder Ralph Bagby will officiate You may visit Mother Burleson as she slumbers in the Chapel of Peace at Keith D. Biglow Funeral Directors, Inc. on Friday, August 12, 2005 from 10 A.M.-7 P.M.
